Bad News

This post is mainly for my Aunt Connie.

Mommy fell, either yesterday or today... its unclear exactly when... and broke her left hip. One of my biggest fears has come true. Apparently, something happened this morning, that caused my dad to call the doctor, who called fire rescue. She has been taken to North Shore hospital, and is still in the ER waiting to be moved to a room. Dot is with her.

No exact treatment plan yet, but all have been saying to prepare for the fact that she'll probably need surgery, to put a rod in her hip. She'll be in the hospital at least a week. Then, she'll be moved to a rehab facility, and then hopefully home.

There is nothing you can do, but wait and see. I plan to take T to school tomorrow, then go get my dad to take him to the hospital to visit in the morning.

I'll keep you posted, as to what is happening.

Please, everyone, keep my mom in your prayers.

I usually check your blog 3 or 4 times a day - don't know what went wrong today. I have not even gone down for mail. I couldn't sleep so here I am just getting your message. I'm so upset about my sister. I know you have been extremely worried this would happen and took all precautions possible to avoid such an accident. I pray Gerry can weather this storm. I will be in touch today. XOX

Dot stayed at the hospital last night, hoping to catch the doctor when he comes. No telling when the doc would come, it could have been really late last night or really early this morning. Dot thinks that the surgery will probably be today, though.

You can take all the precautions in the world, but things still happen. I'll keep you posted through out the day. They have her on major pain meds, so that's a releif.

Sorry to hear about your Mom. I'll be praying for her too along with those suffering in Haiti.

Thanks for the reminder.

Stay warm!

A marvelous plan was made in the stars,
to create a miracle across the ocean so far....
Then entwine and weave all the hopes and labor,
it would take to bring us this joy called "Taylor"....
Now three lives are blessed and somewhere in the stars,
the planners are smiling, as we all are.
