Easy Bake Oven

We've been very busy this weekend cooking with a 100 watt lightbulb. That's how the much-coveted Easy Bake Oven operates. Our success has been limited, but it has been a riot.

Unlike the genius family who writes another blog we read, we did not use store mixed cookie dough. We used the idiotic EBO mixes that comes with the thing. We were literally mixing up minute amounts of batter, liquidated with mere drops of water. MAJOR pain in the butt.
T cake was just gross. That was our first practice attempt. I must say though, we had much better success with the Smores. Perhaps it was our experience having cooked the cake, perhaps it was our Girl scout roots coming through, I don't know. I just know the recipe was more complicated, and they were actually edible.

T had us laughing the whole time. She announced that we were a group called, The White Nosey Girls, since we all had white flour on our noses. T thought we should sing a song. I said forget a song, we should sing a rap. I don't even remember the crazy rap I made up, something about cooking in the easy bake, and a cake, and shaking. Poor T had no idea why dot and I were crying with laughter.
I've cleverly imposed the "No Easy Bake Oven During the Week" rule, so I don't have to deal with the nonsense during the week.

So, that ends our weekend.

We spent New Year's eve at home and that was fine. A little wine in our nightgowns, Beyonce in concert on TV, and lights out seconds after midnight. Perfect.

Today is the 11th. Nothing since 1/2. What's going on?

A marvelous plan was made in the stars,
to create a miracle across the ocean so far....
Then entwine and weave all the hopes and labor,
it would take to bring us this joy called "Taylor"....
Now three lives are blessed and somewhere in the stars,
the planners are smiling, as we all are.
