Errand Day

Well, its starting to be cruch time re: the Happy Hula 6th b-day party...that seems to have developed a life of its own and is growing by leaps and bounds. So far, no one has said they are not coming. Gulp. I had figured most would not come from her class since we're not such a tight group, but that does not seem to be the case. Looks like I'll finally be meeting alot of the parents, which is a good thing. However, alot have not RSVP'd yet, so there's still a chance of regrets.

So far, 10 of the 19 girls and 5 of the 13 boys invited to the party have stated that they are coming. That puts my numbers for moms and other adult friends at 18 of 35...assuming no one brings their husband or other kids...which I understand can happen. Oy. I've tried to guard against that buy clearly stating in the invitation that it is also a "mom's day out tiki cocktail party". I have no objection if a dad brings the kid, its just that if both come my numbers will explode.

As I've stated previously, I'm not going to obsess on it. Our numbers are perfect right now, for the perfect party. If more come, the more the merrier (I keep manicly repeating to myself over and over again like some crazed zen chant).

My house is, if fact, being painted as we speak. That was a long time coming. It had been over 10 years since the last paint job. What was so bad is that the last painter ripped me off with the pressure cleaning. I could have done as good a job with my garden hose and the nozzle set to jet stream. The result of that 10 years later is that the east and west walls of my house were in total peel...of epic proportions. The front of my house (north facing) was peeling as well, albeit not as badly. Currently? My house is basically nude. The current painter used some type of super-sonic pressure cleaner and I couldn't be happier. He's busy today fixing all the cracks and caulking windows, and paint will be applied starting monday.

Today, we have a big costco run on the agenda. Plan is to buy the booze for the mai tais, the soda/juice/water, and the chips.

All I can say is thank god for my IRS return...which was conveniently deposited into my account yesterday. What with T's bday falling at the end of march, her parties are sponsored by the IRS.

Happy Saturday, everyone!

The anticipation is half the fun! I didn't know turning 6 could be so much fun!

A marvelous plan was made in the stars,
to create a miracle across the ocean so far....
Then entwine and weave all the hopes and labor,
it would take to bring us this joy called "Taylor"....
Now three lives are blessed and somewhere in the stars,
the planners are smiling, as we all are.
